What Now...?

After having these basics down, you might be a bit overwhelmed with all of these clothes, or on the other hand, you might really fall in love with your recent purchases and most likely, you will want more.  To achieve the what we talked about in the blog post before, there are many skills and ideas that we should keep in mind order to achieve the perfect wardrobe.  Just like there will always be new trends, there will always be new relationships that come in and out of our lives.  They always make you the happiest when you first purchase these, but over time, the relationship starts to really grow old and the trends fade.  The look just does not fit you anymore and they shoe looses it's shine.  The top just does not seem to ever match the bottom and the excitement or joy just disappears.  Eventually, it may start to feel burdensome.
The classic is a different story.  The classic is your old friend.  The one that is always there for you and it always seems to have a place in your closet and your life.  It always goes with the new trend and you never seem to really get sick of it.  Every time you put this on or wear it, it makes you just as happy as the first time or even happier.  You may not wear it or you may forget about it for a while, but when you are reunited with it, all of the positive feelings and emotions return. You pick up right where you left off and you feel more confident than ever.

With knowing this, shopping is the hardest part. With all of these ideas wandering in your mind, you may be tired of fashion or you may be inspired to do more.  Like I stated earlier, finding the basics, or building up your wardrobe in general can be difficult at times.  Personally, I would not say that I am done with building my basics wardrobe because of the fact that, I keep finding items that I want right in the moment or I keep finding items that are trendy now and so I splurge on something else, but I have to constantly remind myself to save up for that perfect classic skirt, or shirt or dress when I find it.  It truly is difficult to start looking and to actually see what fits according to my body type.  Fashion is an art because it truly takes the time and effort that some people just do not have.  It takes research and you have to know your field before going into it, or you might get ripped off or you may just end up buying something that truly is not what you were looking for in the first place.  You have to do your research and building your style requires you to know about what will look good on your body type, skin color, etc.
Finding the right pair of jeans, buying the perfect pair of shoes, picking out the style of the shirts that flatter, picking out the the outfits and putting them together to put your own spunk to it... These are all many things that one has to keep in mind in order to keep up with fashion and you may be sitting there wanting to not waste your time on these ideas.

There are many ways where you can go about shopping for these items.  Personally, I look at a lot of items online first in order to see the details of everything.  Then I go into the store if the store exists in Colorado or if it is available and then I try the item on.  If i like it, I will do more research and see the reviews and I will really be detailed about each item that I buy.  This is the extreme to the way you can do things.  Some people do not even like trying things on and this is perfectly okay.  I am not saying that you have to do a bunch of research and try every single thing on, but I am saying, build you own system of finding the way that you will find enjoyment in shopping.  Find enjoyment in the way that you go about expressing yourself and find enjoyment in the way that you use fashion as an art.
My idea is, you will have to deal with them anyway no matter what, so why not get it done and over with?  It is perfectly fine if at this point, you do not want to build your wardrobe accordingly, however you may want to take the time to see all of the great ideas and great affects it will have on your future.  This may sound silly to you, but fashion is truly a big part or even a little part of our lives that is significant whether you want it to be or not.  Everyone has a system of getting dressed every morning, and even if it is not very detailed, each individual does have to put something on.

Fashion.
One word has the ability to describe so many ideas, values, cultures, and truly so much more.  By focusing on these ideas, you will be able to achieve this art no matter how you approach it.
Now begin your adventure and make sure to have fun with it!

The Basics...

Basics are the key to one's outfit.  Have you ever head of the saying, less is more? Well this quote is truly effective when it comes to fashion.  Many people misunderstand this part because they try to be trendy and in the moment, but fashion starts with the basics.  Basics and classics never disappear.  By this I mean, the style that is in for the moment, will disappear when a new idea comes out.  This happens with anything.  This happens with style and designers, new TV shows, new music, new sports players or sports gears, and this just happens anytime.  This is key idea that everyone should know and think about when building their own style.  I would personally say this.
Everyone needs basics, such as, basic tees, basic dress shoes, basic dress pants, basic jeans, and just the classic pieces in general.  Although women may have more classic pieces to wear, so do men.  Men should acquire tees, shorts, jeans, running shorts, sweatpants, comfortable clothing, dress pants, slacks, tuxedos, dress shoes, running shoes, basketball shoes, button ups, blazers, jackets, accessories (watches, wallets), and much more that could make or break an outfit.  These are all basics that men probably acquire in their closets and it is important that they keep these with them at all times, especially as we get older.
Women have many items like these as well but in different terms.  I believe that every girl should have the perfect little black dress.  This dress could be a strapless, halter, or standard tank, fitting to one's specific body type , but I believe this is important in many aspects.  The black dress can be dressed up or down.  Next, is the perfect pair of denim jeans.  These jeans can exist as skinny jeans, straight fit, bootcut, flare jeans and much more.  The perfect pair of jeans are always hard to find but it really is important to acquire these because they can be easily accessible on a daily basis. Collared shirts, or button downs, silky classic shirts are necessary for anything.  Skirts, shorts, boots, white and black tops, black classic heels, blazers, a coat, and much more.

This information may be overwhelming, however, it really is important.  What I mean by classics is just the classic colors or styles of each item listed above.  Each designer or each brand always comes out with a seasonal look for their company and I am not against this or anything because the seasonal pieces can truly be just as expressive or even more expressive than the classic.  The reason why I say, build your wardrobe with the classics is so that you may always have this back up, no matter how trendy you may get, because you might need that perfect pair of jeans, with the classic go to shirt and the shoes on a day when you don't have time to put an outfit together, or when you have one of those days where nothing looks good.
This is my first piece of advice to those that want to get started with their wardrobe building.
Word of advice: This may be time consuming so I would suggest that you go for these items a couple or even one at a time.  This will be best for you financially, physically and emotionally.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Believe it or not, we are all into Fashion in one way or the other.  Think about it.  When you are getting ready to have a night out on the town, going to the movies, or even going to the gym, there is always some kind of effort that we put into the way that we appear, even if it is minimal.
What we pick and choose off of the clothes racks reflects our sense of style no matter where we are, a thrift store, flea market, Nordstroms, Saks.  We choose what we wear.  What we wear is a reflection of our personalities, at least that's what I think.  Even if you cannot afford the "latest trend" by Chanel or Louis Vuitton, you still try to look nice, or at least decent.  However, most of cannot afford to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on big name brands or clothes.  Personally, I think you can still look nice with the shirt and that you got on sale and maybe those happen to be sale items that are designer.  Yes you can find some designer names at a discounted price and they still might be expensive, but if you are a "slave to passion", then I don't think it is wrong to indulge in a nice pair of shoes or clothing once in a while.

To some people, fashion is their life, and they will pay for those big names or the latest trend.  To others, they may really not care what brand or what they are even wearing, but fashion is everywhere and we should learn to respect others for their interests and try to see yourself in these situations because fashion may even be a big part of your life, whether you like it or not.

What's Fashion?

Fashion is something that we see and look for each and everyday, even subconsciously.  People may wake up and get dressed for their day and although they may not think that they care, they will actually most likely choose their outfit based on what they feel like particularly that day.

Fashion exists everywhere we go, whether we spot it or not.  It exists for people to appreciate and fashion actually has a larger impact on individuals by our everyday activities.  Some places where I particularly see fashion most is in movies, music, videos in general, celebrities, at school, work, books and much more.  In our country, our fashion is most likely to be dictated by celebrities and icons of our country.  Some people look for fashion through fashion designers that they most respect and they also just look for fashion in their own mind.  Each individual actually determines their own style by selecting what they like and what they do not like in what they see.  One individual may see something as extremely odd and weird, but another individual may totally fall in love with the piece of fashion and they may work to look like how they want and this is the beauty of fashion.  There is no right and wrong because each individual is made differently.
Fashion has the ability to do many things in our world today.  It has the ability to often times, separate individuals to their existing interests and people will join specific individuals because they dress similarly.  If you remember mostly in High School, there were so many groups cliques that people fell into because of the way that they looked.  All of the goths stuck together, there was an emo group, skaters, preps, athletes, nerds and much more.  This is all due to the way that these people presented themselves.  Based on the way that you particularly dress, I am sure that there were specific times where you were put in a new classroom with no one around that you knew, and you unconsciously separated yourself away from individuals that you were not comfortable sitting next to.  Maybe at the end of the school year or term, you befriended people that most likely had similar style and similar interests to you.  Fashion makes a person to who they are.  One's outfit can tell a story or speak a specific language and we should respect and honor that.  Clothes have the ability to say something so much more than plain words can and this is why fashion is an art of expression.

We have many reasons for why we wear the things that we wear.  Often times, we dress to impress.  We want to look attractive to specific individuals and this is why we dress up on certain occasions.  We also dress to protect and dress accordingly to the weather that we are put in.  Sometimes we will dress better according to our emotions and our feelings and some dress in order to keep express their religion.  We also dress differently according to the occasion that we are attending.  We may dress in comfortable clothes at home, dress up to a wedding, look nice for a nice date, dress in uniform if necessary, or dress in a suit for one's occupation.
There are so many ways of expression throughout all of our lives and you may now realize that fashion truly is a big part of  your life!

Welcome ~

Fashion is something I value that inspires me to express who I am each and everyday.  Fashion gives me the opportunity to try new things, and experience new ideas because it can be a medium for people to connect all around the world.  I believe that fashion is not only all about clothes and styles, but it influences and it is influenced by culture as well.
I would also love to express ideas of fashion with you in this blog and this will give you an idea of where to start with style.  Along with that, I hope that these posts will interest you in at least one way, so that you will respect fashion for what it is. This blog may also help you to pay attention to the ideas here or to keep these ideas in mind while going shopping or while dressing up each and everyday.  This may inspire all individuals of every age, to truly focus on fashion or more than just clothes or shopping or a piece of cloth, but to truly see fashion as an art of expression. I am hoping that people build their own style as a result of this persuasive goal by knowing the basic information of fashion itself, while obtaining to gain this respect from people who are not interested in this subject by stating that fashion is truly important to many individuals because it is a way of expression and knowledge. This may cause people to pay attention to their daily styles more often while inspiring some to feel confident in what they wear no matter what height, weight, race, or what motives an individual acquires. This also may cause some individuals to donate to specific causes through and this will help people appreciate fashion and designers as an art or for who they are instead of putting them into a category that is unknown to them.
One of the first things you may ask yourself in the morning is, “What am I going to wear today?” Throughout the day, expression is not only through words from your mouth but self expression can be portrayed through what you actually wear and how your day goes.  Wardrobe is something that is involved in most people’s daily lives.  What you wear not only changes how you feel or who you are as a person, but it can also go on to really changing your mood throughout the day, because when you look good, most of the time, you will feel good.

So please stay tuned to this blog and I hope that it inspires you to develop your own sense of style and also to have fun with fashion.
